Jacob & Caroline Wedding

Two of the loveliest people I know got married in April of this year and asked me to capture their day in a very special way. The brief - fun and unposed. So I did just that. I stood back, I watched, I waited, and I captured their unique Brisbane city wedding.

Jacob and Caroline got married on the 19th of April 2018. The day started at the registry in Brisbane City, progressed over to Queensland Art Gallery in South Brisbane for portraits, family lunch at Gauge and a night of drinks at Black Bear Lodge. It was a long humid day, but the sun was out and the day went in the perfect casual style of both Jacob and Caroline. It was a day of whimsy.

Both Jacob and Caroline I’ve known for a while. Jacob I met in my early days photographing in clubs, seeing him around or playing with bands. A few years ago he opened a food venue in the tiniest shipping container you could possibly imagine, and named it Lucky Egg. I first got reeled in capturing his food with the bribe of bulk paprika chippies, mozzarella sticks, and the most mouth watering eggplant burgers you could possibly dream up. A couple of years later and this tiny burger joint in the middle of a valley club has been converted into its own stand alone shop in the heart of Brunswick Street, and it is absolutely killing it. Caroline a got to know through both Jacob and my closest friend Sophie. This elegant, model-like angel who I immediately found intimidating as I thought she was spectacular. We met, we drunk boogied one night, and we got along so happily. Caroline has a this wonderful creative background and I’m sure that I’m missing half of it, but… she has worked in museums as a technical artist, she has worked in taxidermy, and she is an award winning painter.

Have a scroll through their lovely day. The entire day whilst shooting I had this smile on my face, and I recall going home and my jaw hurting from smiling so much.
