SUMMER WITH JAIMEE & NINA

One summer's day Jaimee, Nina and myself took a trip down to Byron Bay for some beach, beers, and Hasselblad fun. All three of us own Hasselblads and spent the day capturing Watego's Beach and Byron Bay lighthouse.

This was the first shoot I had experienced on my new Hasselblad 500cm and 80mm f2.8 lens. Prior to this I had borrowed Jaimee's to test out, which I fell in love with and of course had to acquire for my own.

The person who sold it hadn't tested the backs for a while, so my entire first two albums were riddled with light leaks from one of the backs. From one Ilford HP5+ roll of 12 photo I had 3 moderately successful photos. From my Fuji Pro 400H roll I had 4 moderately successful photos, with my absolute favourite being of Nina, below, watching the sunset - the subtle light leak around her arm adding an air of dreaminess to the photo.

I've also added two other photos at the bottom to this album. This was a surprise roll.

When I first borrowed Jaimee's Hasselblad, there was an unknown roll in the camera, which we shot at 100. We later found out it was Pan F+ 50 that was fairly old, hence the dirtiness of the film. These were my favourite shots from that roll.

SUMMER WITH BELLA

At the beginning of 2016 I decided that I HAD to have a Hasselblad 6x6 camera. So instead of going out and spending all my leftover money, I borrowed a friends Hasselblad 503cm and 80mm lens. These two rolls are the first two rolls I've done myself without being taught by friends how to use the Hasselblad.

A week or two after these photos were taken Isabella left to live in Melbourne and study textile design at RMIT, so we decided to spend our final whole day together at the Brisbane Botanical Gardens taking in the gorgeous sunny summer day. These photos were taken right in the middle of that beautiful day with the sun shining in the most gorgeous way.
